Three prominent Activision Blizzard developers have left

Three prominent Activision Blizzard developers have left the company in the aftermath of a scathing sexual harassment lawsuit brought by California state officials.

Diablo IV game director Luis Barriga, Blizzard lead level designer Jesse McCree (who's also the character's namesake for Diablo's cowboy protagonist), and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft have all been removed by the business, Activision Blizzard has confirmed through GameSpot. The announcement was first made public by Kotaku.

The publication's sources said Activision Blizzard didn't specify why the three developers were fired from their posts, and the official statement from Activision Blizzard offers no explanation. But, the departures occur following a lawsuit California brought against the gaming giant alleging that the company promoted an environment of discrimination and sexual harassment.

"We can confirm Luis Barriga, Jesse McCree along with Jonathan LeCraft are no longer employed by The company" an Activision Blizzard spokesperson told. "We have an extensive and talented team of developers who are in place and we have new leaders designated as appropriate. We're confident of the ability of our team to make progress in delivering amazing experiences to our users, and to move forward to provide a safe, productive work environment for everyone."

Jesse McCree is of particular importance, since he was one of the former and current developers who were featured in the now-infamous "Cosby Suite" image that made the circulation in late July. Jonathan LeCraft also appears in the photo, along with Blizzard chief game design engineer Cory Stockton. Based on Kotaku, Stockton was placed on leave earlier this month, but is staying at Blizzard.
