Jagex informed 117 that its work on the creation of an HD Version of Old School Runescape was "still relatively early in the exploration stages" however "very still in the process."

"Naturally, this means that any fan-driven project that is attempting to alter the way Old School RuneScape appears is at odds with our plans," Jagex wrote to 117. "We consider it vital to have consistency in the way that Old School looks and therefore we'd like to ensure that our changes to the official version are the only ones that are available.

117 said that they offered Jagex their side of the bargain by removing their project after Jagex has released theirs and also giving Jagex "collaborative power" over Runelite HD's design style.
