U4GM Pokemon TCG Pocket: Why Booster Pack Timing Matters |
You'll get more packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket by treating the early game like a checklist, not a slot machine. If you're starting fresh, some players even look at Pokemon TCG Pocket Accounts to compare progress, but the same rule applies either way: clear the simple stuff first. Beginner Missions and Advanced Missions are worth doing straight away because the rewards come fast, even though you can only claim them once. Don't skip them just because they look basic. Those first hourglasses matter, especially when you're trying to build a deck without wasting resources.
Use Solo mode for steady rewards
Solo mode is where a lot of free value sits. Start with the Battle Guides, then keep going past the required lessons. Guides 8 to 12 are easy to overlook, but they hand out useful items and even help unlock the Wigglytuff ex Rental Deck. After that, move through the Step-up Battles in order: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Expert Solo battles are tougher, but they're also where you can squeeze out more Pack Hourglasses and shop tickets. Pay attention to the extra tasks too. Things like taking no points, using a certain weakness matchup, or landing a big attack can add up quicker than you'd expect.
Rental Decks can save you time
Rental Decks are handy when your own collection still feels thin. Pulling certain key cards unlocks decks tied to different packs, and you can use each one up to ten times. Charizard packs can lead to options like Charizard ex, Machamp ex, and Blaine. Pikachu packs include decks around Blastoise ex, Pikachu ex, Nidoking and Nidoqueen, Lt. Surge, and Brock. Mewtwo packs cover Venusaur ex, Mewtwo ex, and Koga. Later sets bring in stronger tools such as Celebi ex, Mew ex, Palkia ex, Darkrai ex, Dialga ex, and more. Use these decks to clear awkward Solo missions instead of forcing a half-built deck to do everything.
Spend shop tickets with a plan
Once you've picked up shop tickets, don't just buy whatever is sitting at the top of the shop. The refreshed monthly hourglass offers should usually come first, because they disappear and have a decent ticket cost. After that, the one-time deals are still good value, but they aren't going anywhere. Pack Hourglasses give you more booster openings, while Wonder Hourglasses help you chase specific cards through Wonder Pick. Daily Missions also matter. Four Pack Hourglasses a day sounds small, but it's free progress. Grab the daily shop gift as well, then check Wonder Pick whenever you log in. If a pack shows two cards you'd actually use, that's often worth a look.
Know when to stop chasing a pack
At some point, opening the same booster gets less exciting. If you already have two copies of several big chase cards, more packs from that set may mostly give you duplicates. Shinedust and flair are nice, sure, but they won't finish your deck. A better move is to open packs for the main batch, then use Wonder Pick for missing Pokémon ex or other key pieces. Save Pack Points for cards that are genuinely hard to pull, not every small gap. And don't feel pushed to burn Poké Gold or hourglasses just because they're sitting there. Some players compare routes or even browse cheap U4GM Pokemon TCG Pocket Accounts for ideas, but careful saving is still what keeps your collection healthy when the next set lands.
