When Tyrael sheds his own wings to become the Fallen Star in Diablo 3, the story of Tyrael is delving deeply into the game. He then sneaks into Sanctuary, where Nephalem's family resides. By combining efforts with one of the strong relatives, Tyrael assumes command over his Dark Soulstone and destroys the wrongs of the underlying age. Tyrael was the one who took his companion to Pandemonium to kill death itself, whereas Maltheal, the Archangel of Death, pursued the stone and was able to turn against his allies.

Tyrael decides to remain a mortal. He then transforms into both the Aspect of Justice and Wisdom, rejoining his angelic companions. At the conclusion of Diablo 3, he checks to see if his mortal companion, who might become corrupt, is the next threat to Sanctuary, Heaven, Hell, and even life itself. As he leads an army into Hell to find Lilith, his former love, Inarius will most likely not allow The Aspect of Justice and Wisdom to stand still in the end.

The most recent Snowstorm Diablo 4 movie trailer shows Inarius fighting Lilith and armed forces from both sides. Even though the scene doesn't explicitly mention Tyrael's association, his plan for the Horadrim and his involvement with the Safe-haven Paladins show that he is working. In his absence, Tyrael serves as a link between the dark and the light.

Unless something grabs his hand, these people will probably feel his presence. Near the end of Diablo 2, Tyrael is still feeling the effects of destroying the Worldstone. As the successor to Sanctuary, this enigmatic artifact is now in charge of protecting the land from both Heaven and Hell. Tyrael doesn't seem, by all accounts, to be going any farther than the Commotion Post, where he could offer direction to the people who stay and tune in, as Deckard Cain did.
