J. Cole cover J. Cole cover is one of the four covers featured in the new edition of 2K with the other ones featuring Michael Jordan, Devin Booker and a duo of Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. NBA 2K23 talk has been buzzing on social media of late with the NBA ratings falling this week. Kevin Durant even took at an amusing snark following his 2K rating being released. On the week of the game's release, we talked with Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K on the choice to put MJ as the game's cover rather than LeBron and why Devin Booker was selected over other NBA stars, MyCareer, ProAm, gameplay, and more.

Being a part of the development process, what's your biggest excitement about for NBA 2K23? Well having Jordan at the top of the list is always exciting and also working with himis a dream, as is the statement that makes us about our game: the best of all time. It really speaks volumes to what we're trying create from a commercial perspective but also what this game's implications will be.

We have The Jordan challenges. They're back. But they're larger. Better. There's been plenty of chatter about all of them, and the one that's going to be really emotional, and one I'm eager to go back to and reliving is Kobe. The first time they will play each other. It's going to be a lot of exciting. I'm a huge MyTeam player so I was pretty excited about the possibility of more contracts and Triple Threat online cooperative.

You've just announced J. Cole having his own design for his cover. What did it take to get him there and why? Three and a half years ago, when he dunked during any of the stops on the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie, I'd love to be on MyCareer and be a part of the possibilities around that.I worked with our team to bring this idea to life , and it was fitting to collaborate with him. However, I am awestruck that it's called"the Dreamer Edition, because it was an idea that came to fruition over a number of years. It took a long time to make it happen.
